Air Quality Forecast
Air Quality Forecast shows the US Air Quality Index for up to 15 places you choose, with hourly and daily forecasts, a map, a home-screen widget, and optional alerts. Values are modeled (Open-Meteo / Copernicus CAMS), not readings from regulatory monitors such as AirNow.

How do I add a place?
Tap + and search for a city, or choose Current location to add where you are. You can keep up to 15 places. Drag to reorder and swipe to delete.
How do I turn on alerts?
Open a place and set an alert threshold (for example, 100). Allow notifications when iOS asks. When a background refresh finds the index at or above your threshold, the app sends a notification.
My alert didn't fire. Why?
iOS decides when background refresh runs, based on battery, network, and how often you use the app, so alerts can be delayed. Check that: notifications are allowed (Settings → Notifications → Air Quality Forecast), a threshold is set for that place, Background App Refresh is on, and Low Power Mode is off. The app doesn't use continuous GPS, and opening the app always gets fresh readings.
How do I add the widget?
Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen, tap Edit → Add Widget, search for Air Quality Forecast, pick a size, and tap Add Widget.
Why is the number different from AirNow or another app?
Air Quality Forecast uses a modeled US AQI from the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (via Open-Meteo), not readings from regulatory monitors. Models and monitors can differ, especially during wildfire smoke. For health decisions, check your local official source.
Do I need an account? What data do you keep?
No account is needed. Your places and settings are stored on your iPhone. Location is optional and used only while you're using the app. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete my data?
Delete places in the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stored. There's no server account to close.
Location permission
Location is only used to add or center on where you are, and only while the app is open. You can change this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Air Quality Forecast. Search works without location.
